Innovation, quality, respect for the environment in which we operate

Antonio Carraro designs and manufactures specialized tractors for advanced agriculture, where the quality of the final products is combined with the capacity to meet the needs of the territory. This approach reflects also in the company’s choices, aimed at greater efficiency in the use of resources, waste reduction, and the development of advanced technical solutions.
In recent years, the company has undertaken a series of projects and investments that reinforce this focus: from the adoption of systems for self-producing energy and reducing emissions, to the development of electrified tractors and components designed to last longer, facilitate maintenance, and reduce the use of pollutants.
A constantly evolving path, built with technical rigor, collaborations with universities and research centres, and a clear vision: to improve the performance of its vehicles in every area, including the environment.

Environmental management and efficient use of resources

Energy and resources. Since 2011, Antonio Carraro has installed a photovoltaic system consisting of 1,880 panels, replacing the asbestos roofs of the warehouses. The system, with a peak power of 432.4 kWp and a maximum power per panel of 230 watts, contributes to covering approximately 25% of the company's energy needs.
Through a continuous monitoring system, the company is able to record energy production, the CO₂ emissions avoided, and the equivalent saving in fossil resources. 
In 2023, following a severe hailstorm, the plant was temporarily deactivated for safety reasons. It was reactivated in January 2024, and during the year, a new 700 kWp photovoltaic system was installed on the in-house production building.
In line with the obligations for energy-intensive companies, Antonio Carraro has introduced tools for measuring energy consumption. In 2023 – every four years – it carried out an energetic diagnosis in compliance with the legislative obligations under Art . 8 of Legislative Decree 102/2014 and subsequent amendments and integrations. In addition, it has initiated several actions in order to improve the overall efficiency of buildings and activities:
  • replacing neon lighting with more energy-efficient LED systems;
  • gradual renewal of window frames, to improve thermal insulation and reduce heating and air conditioning costs;
  • initiatives for a more rational use of paper and water, rubbish and waste materials;
  • installation of double doors to reduce heat loss;
  • introduction of timers for the automatic switching off of lights and the regulation of heating and cooling systems;
  • replacement of some heating systems with gas heat pumps;
  • optimization of the compressed air system, with the introduction of a smaller compressor for low-consumption operations.

Reduction of single-use plastic

In 2021, Antonio Carraro launched an internal program to reduce the use of single-use plastic:
  • elimination of plastic cups, replaced by metal water bottles and paper cups in vending machines;
  • replacement of PET bottles with water cans in cold drinks dispensers;
  • Introduction of eco-friendly packaging in the company canteen, with the sole exception of condiments, which were temporarily kept in plastic for hygiene reasons during the Covid-19 emergency.

These choices have contributed to the reduction of plastic waste within the plant and are part of the company's broader commitment to efficient resource management.
