A strategic path to integrate sustainability

n 2024, Antonio Carraro embarked on a structured corporate transformation process, aimed at integrating environmental, social and governance principles into its strategies in an increasingly solid matter. A conscious choice, matured in the conviction that the competitiveness and value of a company can also be measured through its ability to generate lasting results for people, the territory, and the environment.
The first step in this journey was the ESG Assessment, an in-depth evaluation that measured the company's environmental, social, and governance performance, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
Starting from the ESG Assessment, a Strategic Sustainability Plan was drawn up with objectives and actions covering the short, medium, and long term. The plan was developed through a participatory process involving the Management Committee and an internal working group, with the support of Tecno ESG, a Tecno Group company.
A clear and structured ESG governance guides this process, through management involvement, performance monitoring, and the integration of ESG issues in the company's strategy.
The aim is to consolidate an effective data collection and monitoring system, enhance existing initiatives, and define a clear direction for the future.
The plan is structured around five strategic pillars:
  • Solid and transparent governance to generate trust and lead the organization with responsibility;
  • People valorisation, promoting well-being, safety and skills development;
  • Environmental efficiency, focusing on responsible consumption practices and resource recovery;
  • Striving for excellence through innovation, product quality, and customer focus;
  • Relationship with the territory, actively contributing to the well-being of local communities.

Starting from the five strategic pillars, an action plan with a four-year horizon (2024-2029) has been defined, which brings together interventions with different priorities, designed to accompany the company's evolution in a progressive manner.

ESG training and culture
Convinced that the change starts with people, Antonio Carraro has launched a three-year ESG training program for company representatives and the management.
The program, developed with the support of expert consultants, deals with the main topics related to sustainability: from current regulations to reporting, from ethical governance to stakeholder management, to effective communication, including the risks related to the greenwashing.

Towards a transparent reporting
Antonio Carraro's first Sustainability Report will be published in 2025.
The document will provide a structured overview of the company's activities and initiatives already undertaken, the path towards integrating sustainability into the business, and the activities for the employees. The Sustainability Report represents a tool for transparency and dialogue with all stakeholders with whom the company interacts.

The value of sustainability
Sustainability for Antonio Carraro is not a slogan, but a set of tangible actions that strengthen the company's technical identity. It is part of its evolution: in the design, in the processes, in the relationship with the territory, and with those who work with the company every day.
